Art glass sold to raise funds for Convoy4Ukraine

Convoy4Ukraine is a grassroots campaign that has been doing quietly heroic work for the last few years. Convoy4Ukraine started when two car mechanic brothers found an old 4x4 after watching civilians caught up in the devastation of Ukraine. They repaired the vehicle, filled it to the brim with supplies and drove it to Ukraine. Many people in the UK and Ireland recognised the impact of that action, and subsequently, 22 convoys have been undertaken, with 263 vehicles handed over to Ukrainian NGOs. These convoys of renovated 4x4s and ambulances have been used to provide real help to people caught in a terrible disaster. This help is non-military, and is nothing to do with war or governments, it is ordinary people in one country directly helping those in another.

The next scheduled convoy is in September this year. I will join the convoy which will take 19 vehicles, each packed with medical supplies.

I am actively raising money to pay for ‘my’ vehicle and the medicines it will hold, and as a glass artist, I have produced suncatchers in the colours of Ukraine, to honour the people who I am trying to help. All the money that I receive will go to Convoy4Ukraine. As the sun catchers are handmade, each one will be unique – definitely not something you will see in the shops!
